As already said in my last entry, I've been getting back into photography, which I first really got interested in at 14 and even went to college for, though I hated photojournalism so much that continuing with it as a career was just plain impossible. I don't really like photographing people anyway (except my friends)...nature is much more my thing, and I love close-ups. Must get a macro lens next year. But my lovely new Canon T1i is pretty excellent all round and does great intense close-ups even without a macro lens, so what I have will do for now.

I opened a second shop on November 1st...so not even two weeks ago. I had to have a second shop because this new one is stocked with handmade recycled envelopes and my own photography (In card form. I still don't think my skills are at the level where people would want huge 16 x 20s...or etc...of them to display on their wall. But cards fill a very different purpose and I think I have plenty to offer in that arena.)

It's fun, so far. I was NOT having fun AT ALL with my original shop any more. I am tired of hairsticks AND business has been INCREDIBLY slow so there was nothing to maintain my energy for the place. I'm considering having a sale to clear all but perhaps 20 or so of my sticks out...but I'm not sure. My prices are already quite fair, so it might just be a waste.

Anyway I'm thinking more about my newer shop for the moment, as it is more fun for me right now. Maybe when I try felting and get into making really cute jewellery with pom-poms, I'll regain my interest in my old shop, but for now, it's items for beautiful, interesting correspondence that interest me.
